RapLeaf reputation scores

In the Contact section of any listing page, and in the contact form linked from there, the RapLeaf reputation scores of the poster are shown. This is meant to help evaluate his/her trustworthiness. Three different indicators of the reputation are provided:

Commerce Score
calculated as the difference between positive and negative ratings received from buyers and sellers.
Personal Score
consists of personal endorsements from friends, and is calculated as the difference between personal positive ratings and personal negative ratings.
Feedback Percentage
the percentage of a person's commerce feedback that is positive.

You can click on a RapLeaf badge to find more info about that person's reputation, including comments from the raters.

The idea of using a reputation system in vivirama is to help smooth the transactions by facilitating a greater level of trust between parties. Yes, trust must be mutual, i.e. the seller has also to trust the buyer. To help with this, when someone replies to a poster through the Email link of a listing page, the RapLeaf score of the sender (the prospective buyer) is automatically added to the message before being sent to the poster (a copy of the message is also sent to the sender).

All this integration of RapLeaf with vivirama is done without revealing any email address (if you're curious about how this is possible, the key is in the use of one-way hash functions; you can find more details in the RapLeaf API).

And the benefits of using this reputation system don't end at vivirama, because RapLeaf is portable, you can take the reputation you build through your transactions in vivirama wherever you go. So, I think this service brings several benefits to honest users, and that's why I encourage you to register on RapLeaf and share your feedback on other people you transact with.
